A week ago I work in my essential oils newsletter about becoming more body conscious. It was a huge realization for me. I am reposting it here. I think we all have areas of our life where we have had a disconnect. I think we are all here to help each other to re-awaken where we have been asleep.

Maybe none of you have had this experience and this has taken me by surprise.
In a book by Geneen Roth, Women Food and God she poses many questions about our relationship with food.
I found that I am not REALLY taking care of myself. Several medically named issues have arisen in my life. What they are showing me is that I have not really been nurturing my body, I feed my mind regularly but the body not so much. I am obese and I have always puzzled that how can I be so over weight when I don’t eat. So many times I look at the clock and it’s 3:00 PM, I realize haven’t eaten. A cup of coffee with 1/2 & 1/2 in the morning, thats it.
I know that by not eating it is throwing my body into survival mode.
Message to body, hang on to the fat sweetie, she isn’t going to feed us…
This realization has truly opened my eyes. I decided as part of bringing consciousness I would begin doing a food journal. I record the time, and what I eat as well as if I have been active or not.
Yes, the other component is my lack of moving. I have let knee and foot issues be my way out of not moving…oh boy we do create what we want, even if it isn’t very good for us. Discovered that if I am moving more that my body responds to the positive.
I know Elementary right!
It is not about not knowing all this in the mind but the fact that I had become unconscious with my body self. I know it is about connecting to all the parts of self, who we are in Body, Mind, Spirit.

I found with this awakening that I am more engaged with self and others.

Yes, I use the essential oils to bring self to awareness but even in that I find I am using different essential oils than from what a normally have. I find I am using more of the wood oils. Wood oils have to do with our structure both physically and emotionally. So Cedar Wood, Arborvitae, Sandalwood with a dab of Pachouli have entered my life.

This plays into not realizing how much nourishment my body needs and by nurturing it, the body can then drop being in survival mode.
